Weeding of wheat before winter has a good effect with a small amount of herbicides. It is safest to apply herbicides about 40 days after the winter wheat is sown. At this time, the wheat is at the stage of four leaves or four leaves and one heart, which is more tolerant to herbicides. It is safest to apply herbicides after four leaves. In addition, at the four leaf stage of wheat, most of the weeds have appeared, and the grass age is relatively small. The wheat has no tillers and few leaves, so it is easy to kill weeds. At this time, herbicide is most effective.
Precautions for spraying wheat herbicide
1. Strictly control temperature
Herbicides are generally marked as ready for use at 2 ℃ or ready for use at 5 ℃. So what do we mean by 2 ℃ or 5 ℃? The answer is the latter. The temperature here refers to the lowest temperature, which means that the lowest temperature can be used above 2 ℃, and should not be lower than this temperature before and two days after herbicide application.
2. No medication in windy days
It is easy to cause the herbicide to drift in windy days, and the effect is not good. It may also spread to greenhouse crops or other crops, causing herbicide damage. Therefore, it must be noted that it is prohibited to use the herbicide in windy days.
3. Do not use drugs in bad weather
It is prohibited to use herbicides in severe weather such as frost, rain, snow, hail, cold current, etc. It is also important to avoid such severe weather before and after herbicide application. Farmers must pay attention to the weather forecast.
4. Do not use herbicides when wheat seedlings are weak and roots are exposed
Generally, wheat straw is returned to the field in winter wheat fields, and the plots are relatively loose. If the weather is abnormal, such as warm winter and dry years, it must be noted that the wheat roots may not be deeply rooted because the soil is too loose, or part of the roots may be exposed. Such wheat is easy to cause frostbite and water shortage, and such wheat seedlings are the most sensitive and vulnerable. If herbicides are applied at this time, it is easy to cause certain damage to wheat.
5. Don't use herbicides when wheat is sick
In recent years, wheat sheath blight, root rot, take all and other seed borne or soil borne diseases occur frequently. Before using herbicides, farmers should make sure that their wheat seedlings are not sick. If it is sick wheat, it is better not to use herbicides. It is suggested that farmers should pay attention to the use of special chemicals for seed dressing before wheat sowing to prevent the occurrence of diseases.
6. When using herbicides, pay attention to secondary dilution
The correct preparation method is the secondary dilution method: first, add a small amount of water into the reagent to prepare the mother liquid, then pour it into the spray containing a certain amount of water, then add the amount of water to be added, mix while adding, and dilute to the required concentration. Do not pour chemicals first and then add water, which is easy to deposit at the suction pipe of the spray, so that the concentration of the liquid sprayed first is high and easy to cause harm, while the concentration of the liquid sprayed later is low and the weeding effect is poor. It is also not allowed to pour the medicament into the spray containing a large amount of water at one time. In this way, the wettable powder often floats on the water meter or forms small pieces, with uneven distribution, which not only can not guarantee the effect, but also can easily block the spray hole when spray. In addition, the liquid medicine should be prepared with clean water.
7. Herbicide must be used strictly according to regulations to avoid excessive use
Some farmers will spray herbicides on the place with thick grass for several times when they apply herbicides, or they will beat the last remaining herbicides to the final plot for fear of waste. This practice is easy to cause herbicide damage, because herbicides are safe for wheat under normal use concentration, but if they are used excessively, the wheat itself cannot be decomposed, which will cause damage to wheat.
8. A Correct View on the Yellowing and Seedling squatting Phenomenon of Herbicide
After some herbicides are used, the wheat will appear yellow at the leaf tip for a short time, which is a normal phenomenon of squatting seedlings. Generally, the wheat can recover itself when it turns green. This phenomenon will not cause yield reduction, but will promote wheat production, which can prevent the reproductive growth of wheat from being affected due to excessive nutrient growth. Therefore, farmers should not worry about this phenomenon.
9. Strictly control temperature
Finally, I remind you that we should pay attention to the weather temperature and humidity when weeding wheat. When applying the medicine, the average temperature should be higher than 6 degrees, and it is best to use it from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If the soil is relatively dry, we should pay attention to increasing the water consumption. If there is water, it will affect the efficacy of wheat herbicide.
